I felt like this game would be a good test for the Lion's F/S team, as Jefferson has always been a good game. The game lived up to some of the expectations I had going into it, but our F/S team looked just as good as they have in the previous games. We put multiple passing sessions together and controlled much of the first half. For a change the boys decided to get on the score board first today. Kyle Kruger put the ball past the keeper after received a great pass from Connor Johnson, midway through the first half. The Lions started to lose a bit of focus with about 5 minutes left in the half and spent those minutes hunkered down in their defensive third of the field. After a brief reminder of sticking to our game plan the team quickly returned to form to start the second half, but it wouldn't stay that way. As the J-Hawks became more and more desperate to even the score the Lions found themselves scrambling to maintain shape and passing form. With a great defensive effort by all the players we held off the opposition for another great win. The players selected Kyle Kruger as the Man of the Match for his efforts on the field and the games only goal. (note - Kyle's stats might show up as #4 Nick Carney as Kyle was wearing #4 for this game).
