A new coach as been hired

After an exhaustive search for quality candidates, and numerous interviews, we are proud to announce that Linn-Mar Mens Soccer’s newest addition to the coaching staff is Clark Anderson. Clark will take over the JV coaching duties that became vacant, following the departure of Tim Lovell.  He will also serve as a Varsity Assistant Coach.

Clark is not new to the program; he was a player during his high school career, and the goalkeeper for the program’s first State Tournament team (2004). Clark has stayed close to the program, through the eyes of his brother, who also is an Assistant Coach, working closely with our Fresh-Soph team.

Following high school, Clark attended the University of Iowa, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology. While a Hawkeye, he stayed active.  Clark walked onto the Iowa football team, as a wide receiver but eventually found his calling within the intramural programs, and with the Iowa Women’s Basketball Team (Head Manager, 2009).  His Iowa intramural basketball team finished 3rd in the National Tournament, and his flag-football team finished as the National Intramural Champion.

While this is his first, full-time, soccer coaching “gig”, this is not the first time he has had a coaching job. Clark led a very successful girls basketball program at Iowa City Regina where he served as the head coach from 2010-2014 (after serving as an assistant for one year). He also is currently an Assistant Coach for the men’s basketball team at Coe College.  In addition, Clark currently is an independent sales representative with Juice Plus+.
